Our Food Story

A key area of focus for Food Island Partnership is to provides opportunities for the PEI food industry to tell their food story to residents, existing and potential visitors, internal stakeholders, and, through partnering, to export markets through a series of activities:

Certified Island Beef

Prince Edward Island Certified Beef is a premium beef brand that is uniquely “Island”.  All animals sold under the brand must be born, raised and processed on Prince Edward Island. The brand returns premium prices to Island cattle producers and help solidify Prince Edward’s foothold in the niche market of premium beef. At present over 82 cow calf and feedlot producers contribute to the brand.


Canada’s Food Island

Prince Edward Island, Canada’s Food Island, is famous for its genuine people that work together to harvest and innovate premium food products and host experiences from land and sea. The ultimate goal for Canada's Food Island is to collectively position Prince Edward Island as a premium destination brand in food tourism and promote our key food exports – lobster, potatoes, oysters, mussels, and beef.


PEI Fall Flavours Festival

The Fall Flavours Festival, a month long culinary celebration highlighting authentic Island tastes and traditions, takes place during September in communities across Prince Edward Island. The Festival features a variety of acclaimed guest chefs hosting a wide range of unique culinary experiences.



Forage Prince Edward Island is an annual two-day industry symposium that celebrates food culture on PEI. It’s all about sharing stories, real food experiences, education and networking. Ultimately it’s an industry movement that will strengthen the Island’s food culture and brand.

Networking Sessions
