Food Xcel has been developed to help aspiring food entrepreneurs move their idea forward through a combination of progressive workshops, networking opportunities with food agencies, industry experts, and entrepreneurs and a chance to compete for a $30,000 grand prize! 

Food Xcel breaks down the process of developing a food product into smaller steps to help you make progress, test your assumptions, and build momentum.   We understand that every entrepreneur has different strengths so we have established a support team that can help you as you build your food business.

Pitch Day


The Food Xcel program is finished for the 2016-17 season. Island food entrepreneur, Ryan Abdallah, won the $30,000 grand prize. Ryan was awarded for his Marouns garlic paste presented at the Startup Zone for the Food Xcel final pitch day on February 22nd, 2017.

Food Xcel is an initiative of the Food Island Partnership in association with many key partners listed below. As Canada’s Food Island, Prince Edward Island’s world-class food cluster is developing a reputation for high quality raw ingredients, product development expertise and facilities, and responsive government partners.
